The Australian Greens is the only national party to have selected Canberra for its election campaign launch. Saturday's launch was covered by media across the Australia but not the Canberra Times.
The Times reported both the local Liberals' launch on Saturday and the national Liberals' launch in Brisbane on Sunday. The question left hanging in the air from these launches is just how many thousands of public service jobs will go in the ACT if an Abbott government is elected.
The Greens' Senate candidate Simon Sheikh is powering ahead with a dynamic campaign which includes defending jobs in the ACT and making high speed rail a reality. He is well on course to becoming the Territory's first Greens senator and, if elected, will reinvigorate its representation on Capitol Hill.
