We invite all climbers, community members who can assist with ground support or just want to join our protest camp in the beautiful takayna / Tarkine!
Two weeks ago, our activists set up camp in threatened takayna / Tarkine forests, in the beautiful Sumac forests, with climbers, tree-sits and banners to protest against the scheduled logging of these ancient forests. Then our activists have expanded their protest actions and returned to guard the Frankland River forests.
As long as we can maintain our camps in these forests, they should be safe from the bulldozers, chainsaws and incendiaries of industrial logging.
Unfortunately, we don't have the resources to watch over all of takayna / Tarkine's forests. Last weekend, our scouts discovered a heartbreaking scene - two logging coupes where ancient rainforests had been reduced to log piles and mounds of debris just days before.
