There will be a public rally outside Parliament house at 12 noon next Monday 25th November to protest the Hodgman government's draconian anti-protest laws.
"A range of community groups will be represented at the rally," said Bob Brown Foundation's Campaign Manager Jenny Weber.
"Everyone will be welcome to come and defend Tasmania's democratic ideals and right to protest. In some ways these laws are worse than those struck down by the High Court in 2017," Bob Brown said.
"Penalties up to 21 years in jail for opposing Will Hodgman's view of exploiting Tasmania's natural resources have no place in a peaceful democracy," he said.
"We expect there will be a good crowd outside parliament house, provided the Hodgman Government has not issued an edict prohibiting gatherings outside parliament house in the meantime," Bob Brown concluded.
