Media Release: Government’s deer dereliction

‘Premier Hodgman is derelict in running a policy to redesign public nature reserves as outdoor shooting parlours while having no policy on the rapid spread of the destructive feral animals in Tasmania’s World Heritage Wilderness,’ Bob Brown said today.

‘Today’s policy is a gift to recreational shooters in minor reserves while deer spread rapidly, virulently and destructively towards Cradle Mountain, Lake St Clair and Frenchmans Cap,’ Bob Brown said.
‘In times to come, this will cost Tasmanian taxpayers millions of dollars to control, but it will all be too late because of Will Hodgman’s myopia on natural resource management,’ Brown said.
