Join our takayna / Tarkine forest blockade

The Pieman River blockade in takayna / Tarkine is still standing strong. Help us to continue holding the line.

We have been maintaining a frontline blockade in takayna / Tarkine’s Pieman River ancient forests since late 2020.

Bob Brown Foundation has re-occupied proposed logging coupe BO092C in the Pieman River area of takayna / Tarkine in defence of its rainforests and wildlife. In February 2020 we occupied this coupe and forced the retreat of the logging machines, but the loggers are still scheduled to return. We plan to stay in place to stop them again.

The tall ancient eucalyptus forests and rainforests of takayna / Tarkine are one of Earth’s great treasures, abundant with wildlife such as the Tasmanian Devil and Spotted-tailed Quoll. They are also rich and essential carbon storehouses in the face of the climate emergency.

You can help us prevent the destruction of this incredible forest by joining us on the frontline at the blockade.

If you can’t physically be there, you can show your support by making a tax-deductible donation.

    To the Bird Spirit People,

Wishing you all the best for your ‘ Summer Takayna Forest Blockade’

Our trees and our forests represent our living human values, inherent from within each footstep and each breath of our ancestral journey in song as human beings, we are bird spirit people at home here within the forests of our Mother Earth.

Within this dreaming of landscapes and peoples, we share ancient Australia and all our diversity with the timeless islands of Tasmania, with nothing, we are naked and deep within the respect of our time cycles and the values that are inherent we share with all life.

All life remains within us as sacred and cherished memories of our being, this is intensely guarded and valued with a passion as it is our memory of our ancestral being that we do so cherish as this life.

For each breath is of value and each drop of blood is of value as our context is our shared memory, our existence is here together as the one spirit being and all here together and all existing forever within our time is home.

Here is the clear, the clean, fresh and flowing water that has been cleansed by this ancient forest, it is hydrating us each and every flow as each tear that falls from the sky forming aquifers through us all and it is this lifeblood that unites us all within each of our beings.

As she pulses and she flows the saps and the bloods from which air herself has been created within our breath borne from the tiny mouths found on the other-side of each leaf that expels life through the dance of the invisible.

The molecules invigorated by waves of pure light, as energy that dances to form feelings, the feeling and vibrating rhythm of life is emanating and radiating from the life in the air through a leaf and this being from the dance in the light that Emirates as pure love from our old grand father sun.

We each absorb, each breath the air and we breath in unison to reciprocate, the equity exchanged as our life from our life to all life, between ourselves and the land and all the people we are; the bird spirit people once again.

All around us the great life bearing forests that have surrounded our fear for so long has entrenched the enslavement of our minds within walls, in order to defend all our wrongs hidden within the ancient ark of time itself as avoidance of our nature and our song.

From the core of the Earth to the top of the atmosphere as winds of the Sun we have danced, to the rhythm that surrounds us within the immensity of our magnetism and our polarity of being both masculine and feminine.

All north to the north and around all South to the South, with all hearts to each heart and all minds to each mind and take away, away from ourselves to a place that is, beyond all our fear filled embrace, where time belongs and out through into the solar winds themselves.

Endlessly we have existed as the timeless, the nature of cycles in time that continue if we continue and dance if we dance and we will throw all our passion behind if through our intensity we birth the atoms of carbon, of oxygen , of hydrogen and of nitrogen to ultimately free ourselves as life forms beyond time.

As life herself , she breathes and we breathe and she bleeds and so we bleed too, so that life as we know her and begin to understand her has an evolving place begun to remember where life generates life and the living regenerates the living.

Is it through sharing or nurturing or was it caring that matters? because I can’t quite remember my purpose as I stand with this chainsaw in my hand and watch with quiet observation the drip of each drop of oil that continues my falling through the soft damp leaves in time.

Is it for ourselves this mirror, this life evolves so that I might mine time from this place as life itself? in the biomass all my life as a human being disintegrates my memory and as a bird spirit I still sing ‘Waltzing Matilda’ and something about Australia and fairness or some such thing.

People, bird spirits of peoples in forests, from forests, within forests please sing, let your voices be heard in choir and rock, with cello, brass and string and all we ask is that you sing with the inherent values you feel and these simple, humble ways so respectful in the knowledge of time will vibrate.

It Is this song that will allow us to feel what will allows us if we remain truly humble in our equity, here with our lost hope and our lost beliefs, in the depths of time, our knowledge may return and our memories as bird spirits and people of the forests will prevail.

May we come to an equitable understanding that within no time the best is yet to come, Oh Bird Spirit People, our Ancestors, our memory please awaken in our hearts this our song.

    Peace through Equity

Logging old growth forests makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. These beautiful ecosystems contribute little economically when destroyed, but contribute so much when protected. They are the lungs of the Earth, they are things of natural beauty, they are a cooling agent and they are the homes of many endangered species.

It is a crime to log these special areas. Trees are far more valuable left in the ground – and they belong to the world – not just to a greedy logging industry. These forests are disappearing all over the world, they should be preserved at all costs, we need them!
