Big Gig for takayna – Sign up

This August 6th, 7th and 8th, we want to host a massive weekend of music for takayna, to show solidarity for those on the frontline of the fight to protect the rainforest.

Our fierce frontline activists are continuing to stand up against mining company MMG, who are determined to place a toxic, acidic heavy-metals tailing dam in the middle of ancient rainforest habitat.

We’ve had more than 50 arrests happening, and we’re now in week six of our resistance campaign against MMG.

We want to build a loud, colourful, upbeat show of solidarity across the country for these activists – to raise funds, recruit new frontline supporters, and show those dedicated activists at the frontline that we’re all right behind them.

Sign up to host a gig in your community on the 6th, 7th, or 8th of August – of any size, shape or form.  You co-ordinate the artists and the venue, and we’ll provide all the campaign resources. You can find the sign up form at the bottom of this page.

While we recognise that the new COVID19 lockdown restrictions across much of Australia have put a dampener on peoples plans, we are keen to continue with this plan for areas that are able to host events. We will declare a second date, later in the year, for those states that have missed out.
