Every Monday evening we will be hosting activist drop-in sessions for people who are keen to get involved with the campaign to protect takayna / Tarkine from logging this spring/summer.
These sessions will provide an opportunity to hear updates and latest news on the Tarkine Campaign. They will also provide an opportunity for people to hear about how you can join us at the frontline camp in the Sumac forest.
There will also be ways to join the campaign even if you can’t get to the Tarkine.
They are a space for you to join brainstorm and organise actions and events with our Campaigners.
We established a camp at Sumac forest a week ago with the intention of holding the space and protecting the old-growth rainforest from the establishment of a logging road. On Friday the 18th of October our peaceful protest was evicted. We re-established our peaceful occupation of these forests on Monday 21st October.
Logging could commence imminently, we are prepared for a non violent direct action campaign in the forests and hosting support actions in the cities. We are now critically and urgently seeking more people to join the campaign.
No RSVP to the drop-in session is necessary – but please contact Molly@bobbrown.org.au for further details.
