Former Greens leader Bob Brown has hit back at media reports anti-Adani protesters compared coal miners to Nazis.
Mr Brown will address hundreds of protesters in Brisbane on Monday as part of a days-long demonstration against the Indian mining giant.
The Courier Mail on Sunday reported one of his supporters had posted remarks comparing workers to Nazis during the Holocaust in a private Facebook group.
The post read "There were jobs for locals in the gas chambers in Nazi Germany too. There is such things as a bad job"
Mr.Brown says he told the reporter prior to publication that he absolutely repudiated such comments, and they had been taken down.
"I hold the Murdoch media responsible for any harmful outcome of this reportage," Mr Brown said in a statement on Monday.
"The hate media works by attacking those it disagrees with when it cannot fairly meet their point of view, especially where ethics like those of the worsening global climate emergency, are involved."
Mr Brown said individuals taking part in a convoy that has wound its way from Tasmania to the sunshine state were committed to a lawful and peaceful process.
