With just a few weeks till polling day on 1st May, we have a lot to do.
We need help with a range of tasks - on the streets, in the office and at our Vote Environment Rally in Hobart on 24th April.
You don’t need previous experience – just dedication, passion and commitment to protecting Tasmania’s wild rivers, forests, coastlines and the wildlife that make this state truly unique.
Please see the list below for more information about how you can help. If you’re ready to take the next step for our wild places and planet Earth, please go to the bottom of the page and select the role/s you can help with and our field organisers will be in touch shortly with more information.
We’ll be hosting an in-person and zoom info session next Monday 12th April, where you can hear more about how you can help us with this election.
As always, thanks so much for your support.
Join us on the phones in the lead up to the election to call and mobilise our supporters for volunteering and attending the rally on the 24th. We'll be hosting evening sessions in the Bob Brown Foundation office, and each phone-banker will be well supported in an encouraging, fun environment. There will be lots of good conversations, guaranteed!
Letter-writing party hosts
We want to get hundreds of genuine, honest letters to all candidates in each electorate. To do so, we're going to need friendly hosts to facilitate letter-writing sessions at local libraries, pubs and in their homes each week. We'll support you with all the info, resourcing and promotion to get this happening. Whether it's one person or fifteen people writing, every letter counts!
Letterboxing (Hobart only)
We want to get the word out about our Vote Environment Rally to all Hobart and surrounds over the next couple of weeks. We need as many volunteers as possible to take to the streets and deliver information to houses across Hobart. Letterboxing will be done in teams and supported by our field organisers at times convenient for each team.
Banner painting (Hobart only)
We’ll need many banners painted over the coming weeks. Banner painting can be done at any time during office hours. We’ll provide you with all resources and you can come in and work at your own pace!
Rally personnel (Hobart only)
There will be multiple roles needed to keep our Vote Environment rally running smoothly and safely, ranging from marshalling, prop management and general assistance. These volunteers will need to be available from approximately 9-2pm on the 24th of April.
Stall helpers (Hobart only)
Personnel to staff our stalls at our rally on April 24th.
People across Tasmania who can get our posters up all over their suburbs! This can be done at a time that suits you – we will provide all resources.
Office work (Hobart only)
There will be a range of ad-hoc tasks needed in the office, from printing to sorting to random trips to collect supplies for our rally. These tasks may be at short notice, but we need people who are happy to come into the office and put their mind to anything! This role will operate only during office hours.
