THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO THE COVID LOCKDOWN
On Saturday, 16th October, the Australian Antarctic Division's new icebreaker, RSV NUYINA, will arrive in Hobart. The icebreaker is a great asset to Australia’s Antarctic science community, unlike the disastrous airport.
We want to have a welcome flotilla/paddle out to let the Australian Antarctic Division know that now we have this great icebreaker, that’s ALL we need! We definitely don’t need to lay 115,000 tonnes of concrete airport on top of the homes of seals and penguins.
We will have a fun, colourful action with banners and signs to grab media attention and let the government know that when it comes to a giant concrete airport in Antarctica we say, No Way!
