Recap: Day 2 of BioBlitz, Carnivore Trapping with Channing Hughes

On Friday BioBlitzers headed to Sundowner Point and Kepple Creek to check carnivore traps with Channing Hughes.

The team were lucky enough to find a healthy female Devil in a trap at Sundowner Point. The Devil was gently measured, checked, weighed and microchipped before being released back into the wild.

Channing Hughes joins us from The Carnivore Conservancy, who's mission is to support the conservation of threatened carnivore species through scientific research, education and ecotourism.

Channing Hughes holds master's degrees in conservation biology and wildlife management. His interests include carnivore interactions, invasive species ecology and control, threatened species management, wildlife disease, and population genetics.
