Come to "Hands Over Tasmania's Forth Bridge"
Dear friends and supporters,
There will be a protest on Scotland's famous Firth of Forth Bridge this Sunday against Underground Coal Gasification (burning coal underground and extracting the gas) beneath the Firth near Edinburgh. Please read the message from Scotland below.
Scotland's Forth River has a namesake in the Southern Hemisphere. We are planning a support gathering with hands over our much more modest Forth River Bridge in northern Tasmania. Please come. Or tell anyone you know in northern Tasmania about our turn-out which, we are sure, will give the Scots a lot of cheer.
WHAT: Rally to save Scotland's famed Firth of Forth from filthy Underground Coal Gasification.
WHEN: This Sunday at noon. It will be over before 1.00pm.
WHERE: On the Forth River Bridge (nb. upstream of the Bass Highway bridge) in the lovely village of Forth between Devonport and Ulverstone.
WHY: To back environmentalists in Scotland - and enjoy ourselves. We will send a message, video and photos to Scotland before their much bigger HANDS OVER THE FORTH rally on the Firth of Forth Bridge approximately 8 hours later. The Tasmanian media will be invited.
WHO: I will talk about the gas extraction planned under the Firth of Forth in Scotland and what we can do to help. Our own Scott (Jordan) will give updates on the campaign to save the Tarkine. Hoping to see you on Tasmania's Bridge of Forth!
Ps. Feel free to bring a banner or to send our foundation (or the Scots) a donation to cover the costs of two banners we are preparing for Sunday.

Subject: Underground Coal Gasification (UCG) under the Firth of Forth, protest 11th October, the Forth Bridge
Dear Mr Brown,
I am writing briefly as someone introduced to your great work by Bob Aitken in Edinburgh.
In Edinburgh, there is a protest organised at the Forth Bridge on Sunday 11th October to try to prevent the Scottish and UK Government from making a devastating mistake with respect to our environment. http://www.ourforth.org/hands-over-our-forth
If you have any opportunity to alert our authorities to this potential disaster on our soil, knowing what you know from the devastation caused in Australia, please help us.
